I walked into the cafe nothing was out of the ordinary. It was like it always was. It was hot inside the air smelled like fresh coffee and a mix of different teas. It was quiet inside only a few people were in the small building seated at the small round brown coffee table on the black leather couches going about their own live's.

A young man was sitting in an armchair reading a book 'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower' the book looked like it had been read countless ties the pages crumbled and a little torn with small coffee stains both on the cover and pages. He was engrossed in the book enjoying it as he drank his coffee slowly probably forgetting all about it having been sucked into the world his book was taking place in his eyes moving quickly scanning the pages eagerly reading the words taking them in.

As his phone buzzed he put down the book without a second of hesitation as he picked up his phone quickly swiping across the screen opening the text he had just received. I could not read it nor was I planning on doing so if I had been able to but the happy grin on his face and the loving glint in his eyes as he read the message that was from a contact he had named 'Princess' with a heart emoji behind it was more than enough to tell me who his message was from.

There was an old couple laughing along with each other their happiness made me smile. They looked like they had only just fallen in love, but the old wedding rings on their fingers suggested a long marriage and a happy one at that. Passing them I felt my own lips involuntarily curve upwards into a smile their joy infectious. Nodding my head at them still smiling as I passed them on my way to the counter they smiled back nodding my way happily before getting lost in each others eyes again.

The guy behind the counter looked me up and down as he licked his lips in a way he probably thought was seductive and sexy. "One latte please." I said politely ignoring the way he looked at me. He nodded his head taking my order leaving to make it quickly. He was back within a minute and I paid him before taking my coffee and then leaving walking over towards the one corner I always sat in passing a woman probably in her late twenties sitting with a young boy that looked to be around the age of one.

It was clear to me that he was her son as I looked at them him grinning as she fed him smiling herself as he clapped his hands together happily enjoying the food she was giving him. I stopped taking a sip of my coffee before speaking up gaining her attention though she let her gaze linger on her son for a couple of seconds before she looked up at me. "He's beautiful." I said softly admiring the adorable tiny little human being that was seated next to his mother both in front of me.

Looking at me she smiled at me before speaking. "Thank you." she thanked me warmly her eyes glinting with pride. She was proud of her son and you could tell by the look in her eyes that though she was tired she was happy and she loved her son. He had been worth it all and would be worth spending an eternity in pain for. The bond between a mother and her child is magnificent it is amazing how much love there is between the two. Continuing on my way I left the woman her son behind me as I closed the remaining distance between me and the old dusty armchair I had fallen in love with the first time I had entered the coffee house.

Slowly drinking my coffee enjoying every sip of it I looked out the window at the busy street watching people rush by. Adults on their phone talking teenagers walking with their friends joking and laughing small kids running along their parents trying to keep up with them as they giggled. So many different people. So many different live's. So many thoughts and emotions all jumbled up and lost in the noise that becomes when too many speak at the same time. Or in this case when too many live the same life at the same time.

Sighing I shook my head taking another sip of my coffee as the front door of the little cafe opened and I turned my head shifting my gaze from the street outside of the window to the door watching as two teenage girls walked inside. I watched as they walked up to the counter walking so close that their hands grazed every time one of them moved. Lifting my gaze from their hands to the back of their head I watched as they both looked at each other sending each other a small smile before stopping in front of the counter to order.

The guy behind the counter checked them out as well his eyes roaming over their bodies making me roll my eyes annoyed. "Prick." I mumbled under my breath before taking another sip of my coffee. The two girls did not notice the guys behaviour as they were too lost in their conversation with each other. Ever so often one of them would compliment the other who would then blush and look at the ground muttering a faint 'Thanks' before looking back up with a happy smile. There was love in their eyes as well.

For once it seemed that the world around me was filled with nothing but love and happiness. It was a rare occasion. It was something which I enjoyed because for once the world was not a cruel cold hateful place it was a warm happy loving place. Maybe some time out in the future I will no longer need to watch other people's love and happiness to feel joy myself. Maybe someday I will find someone who will make me just as happy as these people made each other.

excellent portraits of different kinds of love; parent/child, an elderly couple, an eager, young waiter who met three beautiful girls in a few minutes, a young guy texting his absent 'princess'-girlfriend, and two young, close girlfriends lost in each other.

'You can't hurry love' so don't worry; love will find you when least you expect it ;)
sincerely ...

Love is everywhere around me. I've already found it though I doubt it will be the last time I do so. But thanks.
