With electricity coursing through her veins

And her heart beating

At the speed of light

She would easily get lost

In the pleasurable feeling

Of a night spend together

But she would hardly

Be able to look into her deep blue eyes

When morning rolled around

And the suns golden glare

Gently swept over their naked bodies

Laying intertwined in the middle of the bed

When her mind was no longer in control

But instead lost and clouded

By a fog of lust and desire

She would fool herself to believe

That she could be honest

And no longer ashamed

That her love for the woman with her

Went deeper than mindless words

That would be moaned and screamed into the darkness of the night

In the time spent together with their bodies pressed tightly together

And their hearts beating as one

She could convince herself

That she would dare to declare

To the world

That she loved the woman in her arms

But when light would sweep over them

And she would be able to see the world in its true form once again

All her courage disappeared

And the woman laying next to her was no longer the cause

Of her racing heart

She would be hit with the reality

That the world would be ready to lock away

And keep her out in the cold all alone

If ever she dared to parade around

With the woman she loved

Or stand at the edge of a cliff

And declare that she never wanted to leave her again

When morning rolled around

She would lock away her love

And hope that no one would ever find it

Whilst she pretended to be someone she was not

And live a loveless life

For the rest of her days

In the light of day

It was worth fighting over

But not worth losing over
